Emily Present

Hello! I’m a writer from NYC.

While I have you here:

• My poetry book, Cherry Lime Gospel, was published in 2020 by Bottlecap Press (featured in NYLON and NYMag).

• I’m an MFA Candidate in Creative Writing at Stony Brook University where I’m the recipient of The Martell Prize in Creative Writing and taught Undergraduate Introduction to Creative Writing.

• I co-founded and edited the online literary magazine, G*MOB (formerly GlitterMOB) from 2014-2024.

• When I’m not writing (or trying to!), you can probably find me at the park with my dog Batman, practicing Muay Thai, making stuff with paint/beads/flowers, dancing to disco, checking out other people’s art, rooting for the Knicks, or eavesdropping on the subway in search of some good gossip.

• I am at work on my first novel and a full length poetry collection (which I hope to finish not too many years from now).
